Maggie Beer to join Luke Mangan for first The Inspired Series talk of 2019
Maggie Beer, one of Australia’s most loved food identities, will be the first guest speaker for Luke Mangan’s 2019 The Inspired Series program, to be held on Wednesday, 10 April 2019 at 9:30am at Luke’s Kitchen, Sydney.
Maggie Beer will chat to Luke about her career and experience working in the food industry in Australia and share her insights and expert tips for a successful career in food. Also joining Luke for this first session is Danielle Alvarez, Head Chef of Fred’s Paddington, part of the Merivale Group.
The Q&A format of The Inspired Series program talks provide TAFE cookery and hospitality program students with the opportunity to hear from professionals in the industry and be inspired about their future in hospitality.
“I’m looking forward to hospitality students hearing from two highly successful industry professionals who have forged such great careers in food. It is wonderful to be able to give back to the industry that has served us so well and encourage and nurture the next generation through these talks where we discuss all aspects, the good and the bad, of working in an industry that requires dedication and commitment but which can reap rich rewards for those that put in the hard work, just as Maggie and Danielle have” says Luke Mangan.
The Inspired Series has held events in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Noosa, visiting young chefs and students from TAFE, hospitality training institutes and secondary colleges. Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana), Brett Graham (The Ledbury), Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park), Peter Gilmore (Quay and Bennelong) and Josh Niland (Saint Peter and The Fish Butchery) have taken part in past events.
This free event is open to commercial cookery and hospitality students and their teachers. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Register to attend via this link: https://www.trybooking.com/489045
